BIO

Alexandra Louise Milsom - 1981

Born and raised in New Zealand, I studied Visual Arts in Auckland majoring in Printmaking.

I have just returned after living in Glasgow for two years where I learnt more about my craft at the Glasgow Print Studio.

Hello, I am a print artist based in New Zealand. I prefer to work in Mezzotint, a time consuming but highly rewarding process. My work is largely influenced by folklore and illustrated books from my childhood. My late grandmother was also an inspirational figure as she told me fairytales that have remained deep in my psyche and instigated a need to vocalise with imagery issues important to me. These images characterise some of the myriad emotions that make us human.
