GIRL WITH PARROT (2011)

It has been a looooooong time since I have posted any new works on here- studying has preoccupied most of my creative time. The following two pictures have recently been done in time for a Christmas themed show at Solander Gallery, 218c Willis Street Wellington ...I shall post the full details of this show in the news section.

Hello, I am a print artist based in New Zealand. I prefer to work in Mezzotint, a time consuming but highly rewarding process. My work is largely influenced by folklore and illustrated books from my childhood. My late grandmother was also an inspirational figure as she told me fairytales that have remained deep in my psyche and instigated a need to vocalise with imagery issues important to me. These images characterise some of the myriad emotions that make us human.
